Patrick Stewart has been pegged to star in the next reboot of “Charlie’s Angels.” The 78-year-old actor is reportedly in final negotiations with creators of the new film, including Elizabeth Banks, who will direct, produce, co-write and act in the film.
Stewart will play Bosley, who works for the head of a detective agency, Charlie Townsend, according to The Hollywood Reporter. However, Elizabeth Banks will also reportedly play Bosley, so there appears to be more than one Bosley in the new movie.
Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott of Disney’s live-action “Aladdin,” and newcomer Ella Balinska will play the three elite female detectives working in the now global security and intelligence service agency, which has teams around the world.
The released date for “Charlie’s Angels” is set for Sept. 27, 2019.
Stewart is best known as Professor X from the X-Men and Captain Picard from “Star Trek.” The actor will again star in the newest upcoming “Star Trek” TV series on CBS. In his next movie, he plays Merlin in the King Arthur legend “The Boy Who Would Be King,” which is scheduled to be released on Mar. 1, 2019.
