Mick Jagger Says He’s ‘Feeling Much Better’ After Surgery

Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger issued a statement after he underwent heart surgery.

“I’m feeling much better now and on the mend – and also a huge thank you to all the hospital staff for doing a superb job,” he said on Twitter on April 5.

Reports earlier this week said the 75-year-old would undergo heart valve replacement surgery in New York City.

“Mick Jagger has successfully undergone treatment. He is doing very well and is expected to make a full recovery,” a representative for the band told Rolling Stone magazine.

The band postponed its upcoming tour around North America.

Last week, Jagger said in a statement, “I really hate letting you down like this. I’m devastated for having to postpone the tour but I will be working very hard to be back on stage as soon as I can.”

“You can be back at work within weeks” following the procedure, a source also told the New York Post’s Page Six. “But it could be because the health checks are all set into the insurance for the tour, maybe they’re being careful.”

The Stones’ No Filter Tour was set to start on April 20 in Miami, Florida.

The band was slated to perform in Houston, the New Orleans Jazz Festival, Seattle, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C. Other dates include Pasadena and Santa Clara in California; Jacksonville, Florida; Foxborough, Massachusetts; East Rutherford, New Jersey; and Ontario, Canada.

Promoters AEG Presents and Concerts West told customers that their tickets will be valid they will be good for new dates.

No new dates have been announced for the tour.
