Isabella Strahan, the daughter of television host and former NFL star, Michael Strahan, is officially brain cancer free after a challenging battle with the disease.

The 19-year-old posted the update on July 18 to her YouTube channel, where she detailed her health journey over the last eight months.

In October of 2023, Isabella was diagnosed with medulloblastoma and has been undergoing treatment at “Duke Children’s Hospital & Health Center” in North Carolina.

At the time, she underwent emergency surgery to remove a large malignant tumor in her cerebellum, before going through six weeks of radiation, four weeks of chemotherapy and in total three brain surgeries.

According to the Mayo Clinic, while it can happen at any age, medulloblastoma is the most common cancerous brain tumor found in children.

Her latest video titled “Goodbye Hospital” detailed her last visit with her doctor where she received her final MRI scans.

“It was a great, great scan … everything was clear. Cancer-free and everything is great. I don’t have another doctor’s appointment until October,” she said, beaming with excitement.

“I miss my doctors already and everyone who’s helped me because they’re all so nice … I feel like I’m just saddened today knowing that I wasn’t gonna be going back for awhile because I love them so much.”

Prior to leaving the hospital, Isabella also opened up about the challenges that came with treatment, sharing the reality of chemotherapy after the ports in her neck and stomach were taken out.

“My side hurts a lot. It feels like I got stabbed. I was like, ‘Oh it doesn’t hurt that much.’ I think it’s because all of the stuff wore off … I can’t stand up straight,” she said.

The port, known as a “chemo port,” is an implantable device that attaches to a vein which allows healthcare workers to provide treatment or draw blood without needle insertion.

“I also feel like the tube was going into my heart because my heart started cramping. I don’t know if that’s supposed to happen but … not enjoyable.”

Last month, Isabella celebrated her victory by ringing the hospital bell—a testament to when a patient completes their treatment—surrounded by family and friends.
“I’m so excited because it’s the last time, hopefully ever … jealous of people who don’t have to do this, but at least it’s almost over and pray for those who have to go through it,” she said on finishing chemo.
Mr. Strahan posted a video of the special moment to his Instagram account, to express his excitement calling her a true inspiration.

“@isabellastrahan you are a SUPERWOMAN! Ringing that bell, finishing chemo and on your way! You continue to fight with a smile on your face, strength, and determination. I am one proud Dad! Love you, Bella,” he wrote.

As a family, the Strahans continued to rally around Isabella. Earlier this year the “Good Morning America” co-host took a leave of absence from the show correlating with the tail end of Isabella’s treatments.

Isabella and her twin sister, Sophia, are Mr. Strahan’s daughters, whom he shares with his ex-wife Jean Muggli.

Moving forward, Isabella says she is excited to go back to her normal life as she prepares to head back to college. She assured fans however, that they will see her again, including an update on her college move-in day.
