Mauricio Umansky, the estranged husband of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Kyle Richards, is recovering after undergoing surgery for a broken collarbone he sustained during a skiing accident in Aspen, Colorado, last week.
“I had surgery on my clavicle. It was a clean break but required a metal plate and 12 screws.”
The television personality, who also starred in the Netflix reality show “Buying Beverly Hills,” said he expected to make a speedy recovery.
“The doctors and nurses at Aspen Valley Hospital are the best,” he added.
“I was wearing a helmet and that for sure saved me.”
“I feel so blessed to be taken care of by such amazing humans. Ski patrol, Paramedics, Aspen Hospital you’re all the best. Broken Clavicle,” he captioned over the selfie.
He subsequently shared a picture of an X-ray of his collarbone, writing: “Let’s get this surgery done so I can heal.”
“Play hard sometimes you get hurt,” he added. “But the care here has been incredible.”
Umansky received numerous messages of support from his fans and followers, many of whom wished him a quick recovery.
“Happy to hear you’re on the mend,” one Instagram user wrote.
“Sending you healing light,” shared another.
“So happy you are ok!” commented actress Ali Landry, known for her role on the UPN sitcom “Eve.”
Head injuries were the most common across all of the winter sports studied, followed by shoulder, wrist, and knee injuries.
Umansky did not say how his accident occurred. The Epoch Times reached out to the reality star’s representative for additional comment. A response was not received by publication time.
Umansky and Richards married in 1996 and have three daughters together: Alexia, 28; Sophia, 25; and Portia, 16. Richards also shares a daughter, Farrah Aldjufrie, 36, with her ex-husband, Guraish Aldjufrie, whom she was married to from 1988 to 1992.
Umansky has regularly appeared on the Bravo reality series “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”—currently in its 14th season—since the show’s inception in 2010. The following year, the television personality co-founded the luxury real estate brokerage company The Agency.
Aldjufrie and Umansky’s two eldest daughters later began working for his firm, which is the subject of Netflix’s “Buying Beverly Hills.” The show, which premiered in November 2022, was canceled last year after two seasons.

In October 2023, after nearly three decades of marriage and much speculation in the media, Richards, 56, announced that she and Umansky had separated.
“But now, they’re much better and they’re really strong and they’re just so together and so smart and they’ve been my best, best, best friends, and I could not be more proud of them. They’re just amazing human beings, and thank God I have them through this.”
