A star-studded lineup for the FireAid benefit concert has been announced amid hope that music and solidarity will help restore communities devastated by the California wildfires.
According to the benefit’s official website, the concert will take place on Jan. 30 at two Inglewood venues—the Intuit Dome and Kia Forum, about 15 miles south of downtown Los Angeles.
Artists including Billie Eilish, Dave Matthews and John Mayer, Jelly Roll, Green Day, Lady Gaga, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Earth, Wind and Fire, Gwen Stefani, and more will be performing.
“Dave Matthews is honored to be among an outstanding lineup of artists to perform at the FireAid Benefit Concert,” said the band in a statement. “Dave Matthews and John Mayer will perform together for the first time ever.”
Additional performances and special guests will be confirmed in the coming days. The event is a co-production of Live Nation, AEG, the Los Angeles Clippers and the Azoff Company.
Donations and contributions will be directly distributed under the Annenberg Foundation, a philanthropic organization dedicated to funding and supporting other nonprofits through charitable activities.
Proceeds will go toward rebuilding infrastructure, supporting displaced families, and advancing fire prevention technologies so that Los Angeles will be better equipped for future fire emergencies and natural disasters.
Famed LA. rock band The Eagles have already donated over $2 million to the FireAid cause, but it remains unclear whether the group will perform at the event.
Clippers owner Steve Ballmer has personally pledged $15 million to wildfire relief, as have other famous faces and sports organizations.
The Palisades and Eaton fires, among others, ravaged Los Angeles County since they broke out Jan. 7, with officials reporting at least 25 fatalities.
Over 12,000 structures are presumed destroyed, and tens of thousands of residents were left displaced. Firefighters continue to work on containment, with over 40,000 acres burned collectively.
A number of Hollywood events, premieres, or television productions have been canceled or delayed as the industry focuses on raising awareness and relief efforts.
Tickets for FireAid will go on sale Jan. 22 at noon Pacific time on Ticketmaster, with both shows set to begin at 6 p.m.
The concert will also be available via broadcast in select AMC Theatres, online, and on popular streaming services, such as Apple Music, the Apple TV app, YouTube, Max, iHeartRadio, KTLA+, Netflix/Tudom, Paramount+, Prime Video, the Amazon Music Channel, SiriusXM, Spotify, SoundCloud, and Veeps.
