Korie Robertson, star of the reality series “Duck Dynasty,” is eager for viewers to watch the next generation of Robertsons continue the family legacy when “Duck Dynasty: The Revival” premieres this summer.

“I’m excited about it because you'll get to see a little bit more of our real life,” the television personality shared during a Feb. 19 appearance on the “The 1000 Hours Outside” podcast.

A&E announced the much-anticipated reboot earlier this year. The new series will see members of the “Duck Dynasty” clan return to the network after an eight-year hiatus.

“With their dynasty expanding into more than just ducks, Willie and Korie will bring their signature humor and family fun as they grapple with mapping out the future of Duck Commander, watching the kids navigate marriage, children and businesses of their own, and passing down the family legacy,” a Jan. 22 press release reads.

Korie and Willie Robertson, who married in 1992, starred in the original “Duck Dynasty” series. The couple share six children: Rebecca, John Luke, Sadie, Will Jr., Rowdy, and Bella.

“Duck Dynasty” chronicled the lives of the Robertson family—led by patriarch Phil Robertson and his wife, Kay—on their Louisiana homestead.

The show centered on their successful hunting company, Duck Commander, which they ran with their sons, Jase, Willie, and Jep. Their eldest son, Alan, left his job as a pastor to join the series during its fourth season.

Speaking to the podcast’s host, Ginny Yurich, Korie Robertson said most of her adult children have now moved back home to work in the family business.

“So it’s kind of that continuation—that generational legacy—of what was going on with ‘Duck Dynasty,’ where Phil and Kay were the grandparents, we were the parents, and our kids were the kids,” she explained.

“This time, we’re the grandparents, and our kids are parents now. And so getting to show people kind of that continuation of what’s still happening with the family is going to be really special. We’re excited.”

The forthcoming reboot will feature 20 one-hour episodes across two seasons, shifting from the original show’s 30-minute format.

In addition to Willie and Korie Robertson and their children, A&E said the series would feature other fan favorites from the original “Duck Dynasty” series, including Kay Robertson and Si Robertson, Phil Robertson’s brother.

The network hasn’t confirmed whether or not the family patriarch, who was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, will appear in the show.

“Duck Dynasty” premiered in March 2012 and ran for 11 seasons, airing nearly 130 episodes before its conclusion in March 2017.

“When we were done, we were ready to kind of take a moment and step back,” Korie Robertson shared.

The New York Times best-selling author credited her children for helping to bring “Duck Dynasty” back to life after A&E floated the idea of a possible reboot.

“It was special because when we brought it up to our kids, they all were like, ‘Yeah, we want to do it again,” she recalled.

“That was very, very good and rewarding that they wanted to do it again,” she continued. “They did enjoy it—and we really did because we got to do it as a family.”

Elsewhere in the podcast interview, Korie Robertson expressed gratitude for the lasting impact that “Duck Dynasty” has had among viewers, calling the show “the biggest blessing.”

“What God did with that show and how he used it to impact people was really powerful, and it was way beyond us, way beyond anything we could have ever asked or imagined,” she said.

The reality star said her family sought to portray their lives as authentically as possible in a way that was fun but also hopeful.

“That was the point is that there’s always hope, and at the end of the day, whatever happens ... just sit around a dinner table and thank God for what’s before you and be grateful for the person that’s to the right and the left and across from you,” she said.

“So that’s really what it was about, and we’re really thankful for the impact that it had on people.”
