It’s back-to-school season across the nation, and comedian Jerry Seinfeld and his wife, Jessica, are officially joining the empty nesters club.

Jessica Seinfeld shared a post on Instagram of the couple moving their youngest son, 18-year-old Shepherd, into his first college dorm on Aug. 20.

“Move-in weekend. All 3 baby birds have flown. Hope all of you first timers or last timers are holding up. #classof2028,” she wrote in the caption accompanying the family photos.

Shepherd Seinfeld is attending Duke University in North Carolina and is following in the footsteps of his sister, Sascha Seinfeld, and brother, Julian Seinfeld, who also attended the school, according to Fox News.

Jerry Seinfeld, 70, is seen being hands-on in the moving process, unpacking his son’s clothes and setting up his room.

The proud parents shared group photos of the family, smiling ear-to-ear with their arms wrapped around their youngest. Sascha Seinfeld was also on the trip.

Jerry Seinfeld, aside from his children, is no stranger to the university. Back in May, the actor delivered the keynote address at the school’s 2024 commencement ceremony.

The comedian, who also serves as the co-chair of the Duke Parents Committee, reminded graduates to never give up and to keep trying despite the outcomes or failures.

He also received an honorary degree from the university, but a small group of pro-Palestinian protesters briefly interrupted the event, chanting “Free Palestine.”

Taking to social media at the time, Jessica Seinfeld praised the speech and described the atmosphere and the crowd’s reaction to the protesters.

“Despite their efforts, it had no impact on the ceremony. In fact, they were boo’d and it inspired the crowd of 7,000 to chant ‘Jer-ry! Jer-ry! Jer-ry!’ and applaud even louder,” she wrote. “Jerry’s speech was amazing and received a standing ovation from grads and their parents.”

Jerry and Jessica Seinfeld first met in 1998 in New York City and tied the knot during a Christmas Day wedding ceremony in 1999. One year later, they welcomed their daughter, Sascha, followed by sons Julian in 2003 and Shepherd in 2005.

The couple will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary in December.

Earlier this year, Jerry Seinfeld made his directorial debut in the movie “Unfrosted,” which follows the story of “sworn cereal rivals” Kellogg’s and Post in their “race to create a pastry that will change the face of breakfast forever.”

Jessica Seinfeld is also active in the entertainment business, serving as executive producer for the Netflix documentary “Daughters,” which first premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival.

The film centers on the “healing power of love” as four girls prepare to reunite with their incarcerated fathers through a special dance at a jail in the District of Columbia.
