Francesca Eastwood, the daughter of actors Clint Eastwood and Frances Fisher, has recalled some of the valuable life lessons her father imparted to her as she forges her path as an actress in the entertainment industry.
“He always just says, ‘Just do a good job. Just focus on your part and do a good job. And you know, it’s the director’s movie and all you can do is do your best and just keep your head down. Do a good job,’” she shared.
“Which is great life advice, too,” the actress added.
Reflecting on her childhood, Francesca said her parents—who were romantically involved for several years in the early ‘90s—often brought her to their movie sets.
“At the time, I don’t know if I appreciated it that much, but looking back—they kind of dragged me around with them, and they really included me and had me visit,” she said.
“That was always [one] of the only things that they always spoke to me like an adult about,” Francesca continued. “Anything filmmaking, anything acting, whether it was watching movies or sitting behind the camera, watching them direct, sitting in hair and makeup, all this stuff.”
Eastwood, 94, and Fisher, 72, starred together in the 1992 action film “Unforgiven.” Eastwood directed the Western, which won four Academy Awards in 1993, including the Oscars for Best Picture and Best Director.
Throughout that decade, Eastwood was also involved in “In the Line of Fire” (1993), “The Bridges of Madison County” (1995), and “Absolute Power” (1997), among other films.
In addition to Fisher’s parts in “Praying Mantis” (1993), “Babyfever” (1994), and “Striptease” (1996), the actress is perhaps best known for her role in the 1997 blockbuster film “Titanic,” starring Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio.
Francesca said it was a “huge blessing” that her parents allowed her to be privy to the production process of some of their films.
‘Proud to Be Their Daughter’
Francesca made her film debut when she was 2 years old, starring alongside her mother in the 1995 film “The Stars Fell on Henrietta,” co-produced by Eastwood.Francesca recently finished shooting her latest movie, “Queen of the Ring,” a biographical sports drama about Mildred Burke, a trailblazer in women’s professional wrestling.
“I think my dream at this specific point in my life though would be to work with my mom again and be directed by my dad,” she continued.
Francesca’s latter desire has come to fruition as she takes on a role in her father’s upcoming film, “Juror No. 2,” alongside actors Kiefer Sutherland, Toni Collette, and J. K. Simmons.
“A lot of people on set [of Juror No. 2] are like, ‘Oh, it’s his final film! We had to be here!’ Like, a lot of the newbies, not the usual crew and stuff,” she explained.
“It’s just hard for me to think like that,” she added. “I don’t like to think like that, but I will say it’s a solid flick. It’s a solid movie. There’s great performances in it, and I’m a lucky son of a gun to be in it.”
Speaking to Fox News, Francesca—who shares a 5-year-old son, Titan, with her partner, actor Alexander Wraith—admitted to feeling the need to always perform well as an actress because of her parents.
“I feel pressure to do a good job because I want my parents to be proud of me,” she explained.
Nevertheless, the actress conveyed her deep appreciation for her parents, expressing gratitude for being their daughter.
“I’m so proud of them. I’m so proud to be their daughter,” she said. “They are both extremely talented and amazing.”
