Former “Love Island UK” star Jack Fincham has been released on bail pending an appeal just hours after being sentenced to six weeks in prison for dangerous dog offenses.

During a court appearance at the Southend Magistrates’ Court in Southend-on-Sea, England, on Jan. 29, the 32-year-old pleaded guilty to two counts of being in charge of a dangerously out-of-control dog, per a news release issued by the Essex Police.

The charges stemmed from two incidents involving Fincham’s dog, Elvis, an Italian breed of mastiff known as Cane Corso.

“In Saleh Drive in Swanley, Kent, in September 2022, a man in his 40s reported an injury to his arm caused by the dog,” the Essex police noted. “Then in Culford Road in Grays, June 2024, a woman in her 40s reported a dog grabbed her leg, leaving no injury.”

The British television personality was sentenced to six weeks in jail.

He was also ordered to contribute 2,000 pounds ($2,490) toward kenneling costs, pay a 961 pound ($1,200) fine, and provide 200 pounds in compensation to the male victim who was injured, per BBC News.

As part of the ruling, Fincham’s dog must be kept on a leash and wear a muzzle when in public places. Additionally, the dog cannot be left alone with anyone under the age of 16.

Speaking after the sentencing, Essex Police Sgt. Alex Watkins said, “Owners have to take responsibility for their dogs.”

“On both occasions the owner was given a chance to rectify their behavior with words of advice and a conditional caution, however failed to do so, resulting in this sentencing,” Watkins said.

“I thank both victims for their courage during this investigation.”

However, shortly after being sentenced, Fincham’s defense team issued an appeal and the actor was released on bail, according to Sky News.

A representative for Fincham could not immediately be reached for comment.

The reality star has occasionally shared photos of his dog on Instagram. In an October 2024 post, Fincham wrote, “My best friend in the whole world,” alongside a picture of Elvis.
In January 2024, he shared a photo of himself and the black dog standing on Brick Lane in London’s East End. “Day out with my boy in my favourite place,” he captioned the post.

Fincham rose to fame in 2018 when he won the fourth season of the dating reality series “Love Island UK” alongside Dani Dyer, daughter of “EastEnders” actor Danny Dyer.

Fincham and his then-girlfriend went on to appear on the 2019 reality show spinoff “Jack & Dani: Life After Love Island.” That same year, he was cast on the long-running British game show “The Crystal Maze.”

In September 2020, Fincham signed with the British professional boxing company Boxxer, making his boxing debut in November of that year, according to the brand’s website.

“I am delighted to be turning professional with Boxxer, I love the sport of boxing, it’s in my blood having competed in amateur bouts when I was younger,” he said in a statement at the time.

“This isn’t just a one-off fight for me. I’m taking it seriously. If I perform well on the night I will be wanting to continue the journey.”

Most recently, Fincham starred in the 2022 film “The Last Heist,” featuring actors Terry Stone, Emily Wyatt, and Perry Benson.
