Socialite Jackie Siegel is mourning the loss of her younger sister, Jessica Mallery, who died on Monday at the age of 43 from drug-related causes.

The news comes just days after the “Queen of Versailles” star announced the death of her longtime husband, Westgate Resorts founder David Siegel.

The Orlando news station WKMG reported that the billionaire businessman—who established the timeshare company in 1982—died on April 5 at age 89 after a five-year battle with multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer that develops in plasma cells.
“As I mourn the profound loss of my beloved husband David Siegel ... my world was shattered again yesterday by the unexpected loss of my beautiful sister, Jessica Mallery, 43, to a scourge we as a family sadly know too well—accidental drug overdose,” Jackie Siegel, 59, said via social media on Tuesday.

The statement was posted on the Instagram page of the reality star’s nonprofit organization, Victoria’s Voice Foundation.

The Siegels launched the charity in 2019, four years after losing their 18-year-old daughter, Victoria, to a drug overdose.

“Jessica died after using cocaine laced with fentanyl,” Jackie Siegel penned in her statement.

“Her death is another stark reminder of the drug epidemic and fentanyl crisis plaguing our country—and the urgent need to address substance abuse in order to save lives.

“Our work at Victoria’s Voice remains more critical than ever, and in her memory, we will continue to raise awareness and advocate every single day until this form of grief is a distant memory in this country.”

The beauty pageant director noted that Mallery’s organs were being donated to those in need.

“Our family appreciates everyone’s love, support and prayers, and we ask for privacy during this extremely difficult time,” she wrote.

“In lieu of flowers, our family requests that those who wish to honor Jessica’s memory do so by donating to the Victoria’s Voice Foundation.”

‘Queen of Versailles’

The Siegels married in January 2000 and shared seven other children, including Jackie Siegel’s adopted niece, Jonquil.
Earlier this week, the reality star issued a touching tribute to her late husband online, writing on Instagram that she was “lucky enough to share twenty-five wonderful years” with him.

“Together we raised eight incredible children. His life and legacy live on through them all,” Jackie Siegel posted on April 5.

“To say we are devastated is an understatement. But I find comfort in knowing that Victoria was there to greet him—the first thing he heard was ‘Dad,’ followed by a big hug. ... That thought brings me so much peace.”

Jim Gissy, the CEO of Westgate Resorts, also paid tribute to the U.S. Air Force veteran, highlighting his legacy in the field of hospitality.

“David never forgot his humble roots, starting Westgate in his garage and using the company as a way to lead others to become inspired and successful,” Gissy wrote in a statement.

“It was David’s enduring wish that the spirit of what makes Westgate successful—entrepreneurialism, customer satisfaction, and quality product that is at the heart of our DNA—will be the guiding principles of the next generation of leadership at our company. We know that we are all up to the task of driving forward the legacy of this visionary man and the company he founded.”

The Siegels starred in the 2012 documentary “The Queen of Versailles.” The film chronicled the couple’s efforts to build their 90,000-square-foot megamansion, which they called the “Palace of Versailles,” in the town of Windermere, an affluent neighborhood in Central Florida.

Construction on the sprawling $100 million residence began in 2004 but was later stalled amid the 2008 global economic crisis. After years of delays, Jackie Siegel’s attempt to finish her family’s mansion was featured in the 2022 Discovery+ series “Queen of Versailles Reigns Again.”

The reality star’s efforts to build “Versailles” have also been played out on stage. “The Queen of Versailles,” a musical adapted from the documentary, debuted at the Emerson Colonial Theatre in Boston in July 2024, per Playbill.

The production, which stars Tony Award-winning actress Kristin Chenoweth and Oscar-winning actor F. Murray Abraham as Jackie and David Siegel, respectively, is heading to Broadway this fall. The musical is scheduled to open for preview at the St. James Theatre in New York City on Oct. 8.
