The 16-year-old daughter of country music singer Darryl Worley is on the mend after being hospitalized over the weekend for injuries she sustained in a serious car accident.

Worley, 60, took to Instagram on Nov. 19 with the positive update, uploading a picture of his only child, Savannah—whom he shares with his wife, Kimberly Perkins—lying in a hospital bed.

“It may be raining today but my sunshine is awake with a little smile on her face!!” the singer-songwriter wrote.

“It’s been a rough few days but we know God is in control and shielded Savannah in all of this!! Not sure when she will get to go home but today looks a lot better than yesterday or the day before!!”

The “Tractor Time” singer initially issued a statement on Nov. 17—shortly after the accident occurred—saying that his daughter had been airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

“I’m humbly coming to y’all with a very serious request! I’m flying back to Nashville from a show in New Mexico! Kimberly called and said Savannah had been in a bad wreck,” Worley wrote.

The singer shared pictures of the two vehicles involved in the apparent head-on collision; considerable damage can be seen on the front ends of both cars.

Worley said his daughter sustained a broken leg in the crash, along with various bruises and lacerations.

“Please pray for her and pray I can get home to be with my baby girl and Kimberly!” he wrote. “Also pray for the lady in the other car! I don’t have any details on the accident but just ask you to pray!! Thank you!”

In a since-expired Instagram story posted the day after the accident, Worley wrote that his daughter had to undergo surgery “to repair her leg.”

“Kimberly and I are anxiously waiting to hear how things are going from the doctor! It should be another couple of hours before I have an update after surgery!” he wrote on Nov. 18, per People. “Thank you so much for all the love and support! It means more than you will ever know! Please continue to pray for our baby girl!”

In a subsequent Instagram story posted four hours later, Worley said the surgery was a success.

“Update! Savannah is out of surgery and doing well!” he wrote. “She’s resting now! The doctor said everything went well!”

Side-by-Side Crash

Earlier this year, Worley’s wife sustained injuries in an off-roading accident, which occurred during an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) ride the family holds each year with close friends and family.
“This year I was at a show in Canada so Kimberly [rode] with her brother Keith. The ATV flipped,” Worley shared via Instagram on Aug. 18.

The musician issued an update two days later while his wife was undergoing surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center to repair her “badly broken arm.”

“The last two days have certainly been eventful. I came back from playing a gig in Canada only to discover that my wife had been injured in a side-by-side crash,” he wrote.

“I prayed that God would help me turn this around fast and he must’ve heard my request,” Worley said later in the lengthy post.

“Kimberly’s arm was messed up pretty bad and I’m writing this while she’s still under the knife. ... I really needed to be here for this and I told my God. He guided my footsteps and I wound up here.”

Worley’s Career

Worley rose to fame in the early 2000s. His first album, “Hard Rain Don’t Last,” was released in 2000. The Tennessee native made his debut at Nashville’s historic Grand Ole Opry that same year.

Worley’s subsequent albums included “I Miss My Friend” (2002), “Darryl Worley” (2004), “Here and Now” (2006), “Sounds Like Life” (2009), and “22” (2021).

The singer-songwriter reflected on the meaning behind “I Miss My Friend,” the title track from his 2002 album of the same name, during a November 2023 interview with 98.1 The Hawk, a country music radio station based in Binghamton, New York.

“I did not write it, but it was my first number-one single. It was very personal to me because it was something that I had gone through not so long before I got my hands on the song,” Worley said.

“It is a song that’s very close to my heart because it was my mother’s favorite song, and she believed that song helped her to overcome cancer the first time she had a battle with it. [It was] just a very spiritual kind of a thing.”
