Actor Chris Evans jokingly asked on Jan. 22 whether anyone had checked on the snowplow that injured fellow actor Jeremy Renner earlier this month after the Hurt Locker star revealed he broke more than 30 bones in the accident.

Taking to Twitter on Sunday, Renner, 52, shared a photo of himself in a bed undergoing physical therapy as part of his recovery from the snowplowing accident in Nevada on New Year’s Day.
“I want to thank EVERYONE for their messages and thoughtfulness. Much love and appreciation to you all. These 30-plus broken bones will mend, grow stronger, just like the love and bond with family and friends deepens,” Renner wrote alongside the image.

In response to the post, Evans, who starred alongside Renner in Marvel’s “Avengers” wrote: “That’s one tough mf’er. Has anyone even checked on the snowcat??? Sending so much love.”

Renner, who was recently able to return home after being hospitalized for two weeks, jokingly replied: “Love you brother ... I did check on the snowcat, she needs fuel.”

Renner currently stars in the Paramount+ series “Mayor of Kingstown” and Marvel’s “Hawkeye” series on Disney+.

The father of one has also starred in a string of other films, including  “Captain America”—where he also starred alongside Evans—“American Hustle,” “Rogue Nation,” and the “Mission Impossible” movie franchise.

In November, Renner told old ComicBook.com’s Marvel podcast Phase Zero that he and his Avengers co-stars, including Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., and Chris Hemsworth, still stay in touch via a group chat despite the movie series coming to an end.

Renner Undergoes Surgeries

“We don’t really speak too much about our job, and that’s what’s also great about being, you know, Avenger Friends,” Renner said at the time. “We speak about our kids and, you know, divorces and marriages and house building. We speak about just our life stuff ... Our friendship is very, very special.”
Renner was airlifted to a local hospital on Jan. 1 after officers from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported traumatic injury in the area of the Mt. Rose Highway in Reno at 9 a.m.

The actor had reportedly been run over by his snowplow while he was attempting to dig out his personnel vehicle after it became stuck in the snow near his home, according to police.

After successfully towing his personal vehicle out of the location where it was stuck, the actor is said to have gotten out of the snowcat to speak to his family member when the snowplow began to roll.

Renner then attempted to jump back into the driver’s seat of the snowplow to stop it from rolling but was instead run over by the extremely large piece of snowmobile equipment which weighed at least 14,000 pounds.

The actor has been allowed to operate the snowcat because he was on a private road that was shared by his neighbors and not maintained by the county, according to officials.

According to Renner’s agent, the actor underwent surgeries after sustaining blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries during the accident.

He has since been keeping family and fans updated with his recovery on social media.

Last week, Renner revealed that he had returned to his Nevada home for the first time since the accident and was able to watch the season two premiere of Mayor of Kingstown alongside his family.

He turned 52 while in hospital.
