Several high-profile celebrities and other notable figures have taken to social media to voice their support for former President Donald Trump after an assassination attempt was made at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13.

Business magnate Elon Musk wrote on X that he “fully” endorses the former president, who is currently in Milwaukee attending the Republican National Convention, where he was formally nominated as the GOP presidential candidate.
Mr. Musk also expressed well wishes for the former president’s “rapid recovery,” later writing that the “last time America had a candidate this tough was Theodore Roosevelt.”

Former President Trump was wounded in the shooting after a bullet pierced his right ear. One spectator—identified as firefighter Corey Comperatore—was slain at the rally, while two others were left seriously wounded. The shooter was also killed.

Before being rushed off the stage by Secret Service agents, the former president raised his right arm and made a fist-pumping motion—a moment that was captured by photographers on the ground.

Country music singer Jason Aldean posted one of those photos to his Instagram account, writing: “This is what a Warrior looks like!”

“This is MY guy,” he wrote. “We are thinking about u and praying for you and your family. God has a bigger plan for you my friend and I think we all know what that is by now. My heart goes out to the victims families as well. They are the ones left to pick up the pieces of this cowardly act.”

Just hours after the shooting took place, Mr. Aldean dedicated his hit song “Try That in a Small Town” to the Republican presidential nominee during a concert in Nashville.

“President Trump’s a friend of mine so I want to send this next song out to him. We all know what’s going to happen come November, so it’s all good,” Mr. Aldean said, per Billboard. “Just goes to show you there’s a lot of [expletive] in the world, and that’s kind of what this song right here was about, so this one goes out to the pres.”

Actor Jon Voight expressed his support for the former president in a video published to X, saying: “President Trump won’t give up.”

“They can’t take down the truth,” Mr. Voight said. “He'll keep rising. And help us to rise with him.”

Actor Dennis Quaid, who stars in the forthcoming biopic “Reagan,” out Aug. 30, took to Instagram to encourage his followers to support a GoFundMe fundraiser created to help victims of the rally shooting.

“I’ve posted the link in my stories to an account President Trump has authorized as a place for donations to the supporters and families wounded or killed in the brutal and horrific assassination attempt,” he wrote.
After the shooting, comedian Roseanne Barr wrote on X that “democracy is actually at stake,” while political commentator Charlie Kirk wrote that the country was “1 millimeter away from being ruined forever.”
“If that bullet would have hit him directly, the country would never recover,” the Turning Point USA founder said. “We are on VERY fragile ground.”

‘God Prevented the Unthinkable’

Video of the shooting, which has been widely circulated online, shows the former president turning his head mere seconds before the bullet ripped through his ear.

Country music singer-songwriter John Rich credited God for keeping the former president safe.

“Somewhere, there’s an angel with a bullet hole through his wing. Thank you Lord for protecting DJT,” he wrote.

The former president shared a similar sentiment in a statement posted on Truth Social on July 14.

“It was God alone who prevented the unthinkable from happening. We will FEAR NOT, but instead remain resilient in our Faith and Defiant in the face of Wickedness,” he wrote.

“Our love goes out to the other victims and their families. We pray for the recovery of those who were wounded, and hold in our hearts the memory of the citizen who was so horribly killed,” he said.

“In this moment, it is more important than ever that we stand United, and show our True Character as Americans, remaining Strong and Determined, and not allowing Evil to Win. I truly love our Country, and love you all, and look forward to speaking to our Great Nation this week from Wisconsin.”
