English television presenter Fearne Cotton announced on Dec. 3 she will be undergoing surgery after finding two benign tumors along her jawline.

The 43-year-old shared the news on social media, saying she will be less active on her platforms in the following weeks to focus on recovery from the operation.

“Hey gang,” she wrote alongside a video posted to Instagram. “I’m going to be out of action for a bit due to a surgery.

“I felt a lump under my ear on my jawline a while ago now but this year noticed it was growing. Turns out it’s a benign tumour and another small one above it on the saliva gland.”

Nonetheless, Cotton expressed optimism about the situation and said she “will take the opportunity to rest and slow right down.”

She encouraged viewers to remain vigilant about their health.

“If you feel a lump or bump or feel like something is a bit off, always go get it checked,“ she said. ”I’m so glad I did as the longer you leave these things the more complicated things become.”

Cotton also received support from fellow television presenter Davina McCall, who had an operation to remove a rare brain tumor in November.

“It’s obviously so weird that only a couple of months ago Davina told me about her tumour and then weeks later I was calling her having discovered mine,” Cotton said. “I’m not only lucky she’s a bloody good mate but also a beacon of light and positivity when it comes to this stuff.

“Sending you all loads of love and I'll see you soon.”

In the video, the “Celebrity Juice” star shared what she plans to do during her resting period.

“Not very good at resting, so wondering how that’s going to go,” she said. “I’m going to catch up on lots of TV while I’m out the other side of it.

“The podcast will carry on as normal,” she said, referring to her “Happy Place” podcast. “I’ll be doing all the regular stuff. I’ve banked a load of good episodes so that will still be rolling out and I’ll see you soon.”

McCall commented on the video, sharing encouragement and support. “Sending you so much healing and love can’t wait to give you a huge gentle cuddle,” she wrote.

Last month, McCall told viewers she was recovering from her operation, which was to remove a benign brain tumor called a colloid cyst.

“My short-term memory is a bit remiss but that’s something I can work on, so I’m really happy about that,” she said in a video posted to Instagram on Nov. 25. “I’m writing down everything I’m doing to keep myself feeling safe.
“I’m on the mend, I’m resting, I’m sleeping loads, I feel really good. And very lucky.”

Cotton’s Career

Born in London on Sept. 3, 1981, Cotton began her presenting career in 1996 at 15, making her television debut on the children’s program “The Disney Club.” She went on to host several children’s shows, including “Digit,” “Eureka TV,” “Pump it Up,” and “Only in America.” In 2015, she returned to children’s television to voice one of the Voice Trumpets in “Teletubbies.”

In 2006, Cotton hosted the reality television show “Love Island,” alongside Patrick Kielty, before taking roles on “The Xtra Factor” and “Holly & Fearne Go Dating” the following year. She began one of her best-known roles as team captain on “Celebrity Juice,” starring in the game show for 10 years before leaving to pursue other projects.

Cotton has also made her mark in mainstream broadcasting under BBC since 2005, hosting the music television program “Top of the Pops” and presenting on BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 2.

The broadcaster has two children with husband Jesse Wood, who also has two children from a previous relationship.
