British singer-songwriter Joss Stone and her husband, Cody DaLuz, are officially a family of five.

On Monday, Stone, 37, announced the arrival of her third child, Bear, whom the couple welcomed via adoption.

“This is what happened to us last Monday. We can not quite believe it. We are in love big time with this little guy,” the Grammy-winning vocalist captioned an Instagram reel.

“The reason why Cody even exists is because his bio mum loved him enough to make an adoption plan for him and the same goes for Bear. Honestly, bio mothers do not get the gratitude they deserve,” Stone shared.

“It is a more selfless love than I knew existed. Truly. We are just so happy to be part of this beautiful cycle,” the actress continued in part. “Please welcome our gorgeous baby boy to this wonderful world.”

The three-minute-long reel features a montage of clips chronicling the couple’s adoption process.

The video opens with the couple, who tied the knot in October 2023, speaking on the phone with a woman from the adoption agency.

The woman can be heard telling Stone and DaLuz—who had been trying to adopt a baby for quite some time—that they could pick up the newborn the following day.

“We have a baby coming home,” DaLuz, 34, tells the couple’s two other children, daughter Violet, 3, and son Shackleton, 2.

“We can’t wait. We’re so excited,” Stone says in a subsequent clip.

The couple’s journey to unite with Bear wasn’t without its hiccups. After accidentally visiting the wrong hospital, Stone and DaLuz were finally able to locate the correct medical facility, where they met their son for the first time.

“We’re so happy you’re here. I love you,” DaLuz says while holding Bear. “Isn’t he so sweet?” Stone says as she caresses the newborn.

The singer went on to express gratitude for the nurses who cared for Bear while he was in the neonatal intensive care unit.

“These are the ladies that looked after him for the first 36 days of his life,” she wrote alongside pictures of the nurses. “So much love in this hospital. Thank God for all of these beautiful angels.”

Despite spending over a month in the hospital, Stone said Bear was able to make it home “just in time for Thanksgiving.”

“Forever grateful to his tummy mummy for giving him life and more selfless love than I thought was possible,” she wrote. “Turns out dreams do come true.”

And Baby Makes 5

Stone and DaLuz welcomed their first child, Violet, in January 2021.
“I’ve a very special little bun that I’ve been making for, took about 9 months, and it’s cooked,” Stone quipped on Facebook, noting that their daughter had to be delivered via C-section because she was in the breech position.

“She’s the prettiest thing in the world,” DaLuz added. “I’ve got the two most beautiful girls in the entire world. How lucky am I?”

After the birth of her daughter, Stone discovered that she was pregnant again. However, in April 2022, the singer shared the tragic news that she had suffered a miscarriage six months earlier.

“Last year, in October, I lost a baby. It was really horrible because it was my baby, and I know that a lot of women go through that. It was just hard,” she said in an Instagram video.

Stone went on to announce that she was expecting another child.

“That’s the beautiful part of the story is that there are rainbows after storms,” she said. “It’s just lovely and I’m very excited, and I can’t wait to meet my baby and I hope and pray that everything’s okay.”

Stone and DaLuz, who were living in Nashville, Tennessee, at the time, later welcomed their son Shackleton in October 2022.

In an interview with Us Weekly, published the following month, Stone said her daughter was thrilled to be a big sister.

“She is totally in love with him, always checking on him, giving him kisses and hugs and constantly trying to sneak into his crib just so she can carefully sit next to him,” Stone told the publication.

“It is the sweetest thing to watch. We are so lucky to have her, Violet is truly an angel. I love her so much. Shack is a lucky guy to have such a loving sister.”
