Pop singer Ariana Grande spread Christmas cheer by donating gifts to children in hospitals across Manchester, England, this holiday season.

The Manchester Foundation Trust Charity, which supports a network of hospitals in the area, took to Instagram on Dec. 23 to thank the “Wicked” star for her generosity.

“We are so grateful to Ariana for thinking of our young patients this Christmas,” the nonprofit organization wrote.

“The gifts she has donated are being distributed to babies, children, and teenagers across Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, Trafford General Hospital, Wythenshawe Hospital, and North Manchester General Hospital.”

The charity shared pictures of children holding the festively wrapped presents, each featuring a greeting card with the message: “Happy Holidays ... With love, Ariana.”

Grande, 31, also had a special gift to share with her social media followers ahead of the Christmas holiday.

On Monday, the Grammy Award-winning singer released a live performance of her 2014 song “Santa Tell Me.”

That same day, the catchy Christmas hit snagged the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100’s top 10 for the very first time since its release, Billboard reported.
“Celebrating ten years of Santa Tell Me!” Grande shared via Instagram.
“Thank you so much for all of the love you have shown this record over the past decade. Wishing you all a happy, happy holiday!”

Support for Manchester

Grande has previously given presents to children receiving medical care in Manchester-area hospitals.

In December 2022, the Manchester Foundation Trust Charity shared pictures of Christmas gifts donated by the “One Last Time” singer.

“Thank you Ariana!” the organization wrote. “We were so excited to receive Christmas gifts for young patients across our hospitals from Ariana Grande.”

Grande’s most recent round of gifts comes more than seven years after one of the United Kingdom’s deadliest terrorist attacks took place after one of the singer’s concerts at the Manchester Arena.

On May 22, 2017, suicide bomber Salman Abedi detonated a homemade explosive device in the arena’s foyer as concertgoers were leaving the venue. Abedi, 22, was killed during the explosion, which left 22 people dead, including children, and more than 100 others injured.

In the wake of the tragedy, Grande lent her support to the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund, which was established shortly after the attack to assist the victims’ families and survivors of the bombing.

On June 4, 2017, the singer hosted the One Love Manchester benefit concert, which reportedly raised more than $12 million for the emergency fund.

Held at Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester, the sold-out concert featured performances by Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Coldplay, Katy Perry, and more.

Speaking to Time magazine in May 2018, ahead of the one-year anniversary of the attack, Grande called the bombing “the absolute worst of humanity.”

“There are so many people who have suffered such loss and pain. The processing part is going to take forever,” the singer told the publication.

“Music is supposed to be the safest thing in the world. I think that’s why it’s still so heavy on my heart every single day,” she said.

“I wish there was more that I could fix. You think, with time, it’ll become easier to talk about. Or you’ll make peace with it. But every day I wait for that peace to come and it’s still very painful.”

Grande has observed the anniversary of the Manchester Arena bombing throughout the years.

“Not a day goes by that this doesn’t affect you and all of us still,” she wrote in May 2020, per the BBC. “My heart, thoughts, prayers are with you always.”
“Although grief is ever-present and our relationship to it is constantly evolving and expressing itself in different ways every day, year-round,” Grande shared the following year, per E! News.

“I know that this anniversary will never be an easy one. Please know that I am thinking of you today,” she said.

“Manchester, my heart is with you today and always.”
