Amazon said it will be streaming “The Apprentice,” the NBC reality show that turned real estate mogul Donald Trump into a TV personality.
The show’s first seven seasons will stream exclusively on Prime Video, Amazon said on Monday. Season one of “The Apprentice” is already available and subsequent seasons will be added to the streaming platform every Monday.
The reality TV show first debuted in 2004 and was an instant hit. The premise of the show involves a group of contestants competing in business-related challenges to become Trump’s “apprentice” and win a one-year, $250,000 contract to manage a business project offered by Trump or a position within his organization.
The show was a creation of British television producer Mark Burnett, whose credits include several successful TV shows such as “The Voice,” “Survivor,” and “Shark Tank.”
“The Apprentice” ran for a total of 15 seasons, with Trump as its host for all but the last season. The show also featured Trump’s oldest children, Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka, and Eric.
The original version of the show ran for seven seasons (Seasons 1-6 and 10) but was then reimagined as “The Celebrity Apprentice”—instead of entrepreneurs and business professionals—celebrities competed to raise money for charities.
After Trump left to focus on his 2016 presidential campaign, former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger took over as host for one season in 2017. The show was then rebranded as “The New Celebrity Apprentice.”
With its new host, the show failed to achieve the same success and was canceled.
“‘The Apprentice’ is one of the best shows that I ever produced,” Burnett said in a statement per CNN. “Now, thanks to Prime Video, a whole new audience will experience a new season every Monday.”

Nearly two decades later, “The Apprentice” took off with a blast, boosting Trump’s fame to new levels. The early seasons of the show were a massive success, drawing an average weekly audience of 20 million viewers, according to Amazon.
“Back by popular demand, for the first time in 20 years, the Emmy nominated ORIGINAL APPRENTICE STARRING PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP is back!!”
“The Apprentice” streaming is the second deal Amazon Prime has made with the Trump family this year. In January, the Jeff Bezos-owned company said it was producing a documentary focused on Melania Trump, who also functions as the show’s executive producer.
The documentary began filming in December 2024, one month after Trump won the election and is scheduled for release in the summer.
