Adele announced on Saturday that she will be taking a hiatus from music “for an incredibly long time” after her Las Vegas residency ends later this year.
The “Easy On Me” singer told her fans at a show in Munich, Germany, on Aug. 31 that they won’t hear from her for a while after her “Weekends With Adele” shows at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas wind up in November.
“I have 10 shows left after this, back in my [Las Vegas] residency … but after that, I will not see you for an incredibly long time, and I will hold you dear in my heart for the whole next of my break,” she said.
The British singer-songwriter said she needs to step away from performing for an unspecified period to focus on her “new life.”
“I will fantasize about these shows and any shows that I’ve done over the last three years, and I'll really, really hold them in the bottom of my heart forever. It has been amazing; I just need a rest,” Adele said.
“I have spent the last seven years building a new life for myself, and I want to live it. I want to live my new life that I’ve been building. I will miss you terribly.”
Adele’s final shows are scheduled to run from Oct. 25 to Nov. 23 at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
The announcement was made less than a month after the Grammy award-winning singer told her fans in early August that she was engaged to sports agent Rich Paul. The couple has been dating since 2021.
Adele broke the news about her engagement during her show in Munich when she spotted someone in the crowd holding a sign with a marriage proposal.
Adele was previously married to Simon Konecki, the co-founder of Life Water, a brand of bottled water, in 2018. They share a child, who was born in 2012. The pair got divorced in 2019.
