Actor William Daniels, 91, was able to stop a potential burglar from invading his Southern California home on the night of Oct. 27.
The actor jumped up and quickly turned on the lights, which seemed to scare the intruder away.
Although there have been a recent string of burglaries aimed at celebrities, the LAPD said it doesn’t believe this case was related or that Daniels was targeted specifically.
Daniels, who is originally from New York, is best known for his long-running character Mr. Feeny on the popular television series “Boy Meets World” in the 90s—a role that he reprised several times on the more recent sequel “Girl Meets World.”
Daniels first started performing at the age of four and a half, when he learned tap dancing. A few years later, he and his younger sister began singing and dancing on children’s shows, radio programs, and at other events.
He later met his wife at Northwestern University, where they were both studying drama.
Daniels’s other major career roles include a recurring character on the television shows “Grey’s Anatomy” as Dr. Craig Thomas and “St. Elsewhere” as Dr. Mark Craig. He starred in films such as The Graduate, Blades of Glory, and The Blue Lagoon. In addition, he voiced the famous talking car on the 1980s television show “Night Rider.”
From 1999 to 2001, Daniels served as president of the Screen Actors Guild, the union representing film actors.
Daniels married his wife on June 30, 1951. They have two children.
