Mo Brings Plenty, known for his role as Mo in the paramount series Yellowstone, has appealed to the public for help finding his missing nephew, Cole “Coco” Brings Plenty. Cole was last seen in Kansas on Sunday, driving a 2005 white Ford Explorer and leaving the Lawrence area. Mo shared a missing person poster on his Instagram page asking anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact local police. In the post, he states that Cole’s cell phone is currently off.

Law enforcement is seeking Cole in connection with a domestic violence incident reported on March 31. A statement on the official Lawrence Police Department’s Facebook page says“Lawrence Police have submitted an affidavit to the District Attorney for the arrest of Cole Brings Plenty after an incident Sunday morning at an apartment in Lawrence. We’ve identified him as the suspect, have probable cause for his arrest, and issued an alert to area agencies. Officers responded to reports of a female screaming for help, but the suspect fled before officers arrived.”

The police say that Cole’s family contacted officers to report Cole missing. However, they contend that since this case involves alleged domestic violence, no further details will be provided. The Epoch Times contacted the Lawrence Police Department, and in a returned statement they noted no additional details.

Cole’s father, Joseph Brings Plenty Sr. a longtime law enforcement officer, posted on his Facebook page: “Anything legal thats being said about my son, let his accusers stand before him in a court of law, that has a place and a time for it. If my son was anything but a Lakota, the wording on the local PDs post would be different, the priority he would be a missng [sic] person. Anyone that knows my son knows this is out of character, that he wouldn’t just ghost his family and friends regardless. Something happened and I’m here to find out what and where my son is.”

The search for Cole has gained momentum as fellow Yellowstone actor Cole Hauser shared the missing person poster on social media, urging anyone with information to come forward. “My good friend @mobringsplenty nephew is missing. He was last seen on Easter evening in Kansas City. If you have any information on his whereabouts please contact the below or your local police.”

Cole Brings Plenty, a 27-year-old actor, has credits in shows like Yellowstone spinoff 1923, Into the Wild Frontier, and The Tall Tales of Jim Bridger.

Domestic Violence in the Native American Community

According to the National Institute of Justice, “More than four in five American Indian and Alaska Native adults (83 percent) have experienced some form of violence in their lifetime.”

Native women in the United States experience violence and abuse at significantly higher rates compared to the national average. In response, tribal communities have implemented various initiatives to enhance the safety of their women and hold perpetrators accountable.

These efforts face challenges, including jurisdictional complexities, limited resources, and historical societal issues.

However, tribes have developed innovative strategies to address these challenges. Initiatives include culturally appropriate victim support programs, community education campaigns, specialized law enforcement units, and enhanced collaboration with state and federal authorities. Additionally, mobile forensic response teams ensure timely and sensitive evidence collection.
