Earthquake Today in California: 3.1 Quake Near Malibu, Los Angeles on Thursday

A 3.1-magnitude earthquake struck near Malibu in Southern California on Thursday morning. It shook Thousand Oaks and Agoura Hills.

The quake struck after 10 a.m. local time.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake hit about 9 miles west of Malibu at 10:08 a.m.

The quake also hit near Thousand Oaks, Agoura Hills, and Camarillo.

On Twitter, users reacted to the quake.

“Just now in Malibu. Earthquake season is in full effect! Malibu is up!” one person tweeted.

Added another: “Earthquake in Malibu, wow.”

“Earthquake in Malibu.... Yet my dad and I are on our way there to hike the Chumash trail.... Are we stupid or stupid?” another tweeted.
