While some voters feel well-served by politicians they support, others wish for better representation and for politicians to honor their promises. This is what Epoch Times reporters from Bulgaria to Colombia discovered when they asked locals:

There are positive signs of development, but I want to be represented by people who know what to do, to cope with and to resolve problems successfully, and to respect the personalities of the voters.

I voted for the Maori Party. I felt over-represented by them, like they did a really good job in terms of bringing all Maori interest to the forefront within a very strong political sense; and the shift and the push that they made within our political structure in terms of not just rights for Maori, but in terms of looking at what’s happening within a social class structure so I think that they’ve done really good. A great job in terms of representing my voice and other voices like mine.

Not really, because I think they have not been up to the expectations according to the promises they had made. Added to this, and to make things worse, I’ve seen a lot of corruption.

No, I do not feel represented at all by the political class in my country. The only thing they [the politicians] do well is talk; in fact, they are pure rhetoric. It seems that draft laws are produced by natural sedimentation, and it’s inertia that keeps the country going; and they only represent themselves and/or a very small, very, very small number that follow their ideals. And their opponents [politicians] do the same, but on the other footpath. They do not represent the vast majority of citizens in Chile—they have a 67 percent disapproval rate and the opposition, a little bit more.

The presidential candidate that I voted for did not win. Regarding the MP or the Councilor, I am really not sure if they won or if they are doing something good and positive. I believe that we don’t have this habit in Brazil, checking this kind of information on what our politicians are doing. But now I will start to do it.

I do not feel well-represented by the political party for which I voted, because I did not expect the government plan to be implemented so slowly. I hope for good results at the end of this government.

I didn’t vote for anybody this year because I didn’t like anyone who was there. It would have been just a coin toss.

I just can’t believe them. I mean they renege on so many things and I’m not sure what they’re standing for at the moment, quite honest. I thought they were going to do a job, but I think I’ve changed my mind. They’re in power. Yes.
