Deep Dive (May 11): FBI Identifies Group Behind Colonial Pipeline Attack

The cyberattack on the largest U.S. pipeline is still sending ripples across the economy because the Colonial Pipeline delivers about half the fuel used on the Eastern Seaboard. The FBI says it knows the culprit behind the cyberattack against Colonial Pipeline and on Monday it identified the hacker group behind the attack as DarkSide.

New guidance from U.S. health authorities means more Americans are now able to go out unmasked. But some say they aren’t yet ready to do that. In Washington and other densely populated areas that issued mask mandates, the change is going to take some getting used to.

Parents are planning on suing the University of Massachusetts Amherst after the school suspended three students for being maskless off-campus. The school website says, “Face coverings are required to be worn outdoors when you are unable to maintain six feet of social distancing.”
