Thousands of national guards are set to stay in Washington D.C. due to security concerns around the impeachment trial. The impeachment trial is pushing forward despite there being mixed views as to whether impeachment is constitutional now that Trump has left office.

Amazon is trying to block a warehouse union vote by mail. It’s pushing for the election to happen in person. 6,000 warehouse workers are set to vote on whether to join the Retail, Wholesale, and Department Store Union.

There’s growing concern around Big Tech.

Three governments signed an open letter calling for Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg to reconsider a new privacy rollout. This is due to concerns it would help, not hinder, child abusers.

And a UK watchdog meanwhile accuses the companies of manipulating users’ lives. The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is accusing Big Tech of manipulating the lives of its users as well as reducing competition, which harms consumers. The investigation will look into how these companies could be manipulating the lives of residents in the UK.
