Clementi was among the towns impacted by Singapore flooding on Monday, and a number of roads were at least partially blocked after heavy rain.
The National University of Singapore was also flooded, with waters reaching knee-deep levels, reported Today Online.
About a third of a foot of rainfall was recorded at Kent Ridge, one of the areas that was flooded the most.
A section of the Ayer Rajah Expressway was closed, causing massive congestion.
Drains overflowed at the expressway, causing intense flooding.
Other areas affected by floods were, according to Channel News Asia: Dunearn Road (between Yarwood Avenue and Binjai Park), junction of Sunset Drive and Sunset Square, slip road from Clementi Road to Ulu Pandan Road, junction of Clementi Avenue 4 and Commonwealth Avenue West, and Lorong Kismis.
Rain peaked in the afternoon, between 3:30 and 4 p.m., and has slowed considerably since then.
