Data released by the CCP on August 10 showed that prices in China continue to rise. The price for pork increased 85 percent and the price for eggs increased more than 40 percent in one month. Many Chinese citizens indicated that they could not afford to purchase pork for a long time now.
On August 10, the statistics published by the National Bureau of Statistics of China showed that China’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased 2.7 percent in July. Food prices increased 13.2 percent, with the price for pork increasing the most by 85 percent, and the price for eggs increasing 43 percent. Many Chinese citizens indicated that since the price for pork drastically increased after the outbreak of African swine fever in China last year, they could not afford to eat pork anymore.
