If you realized that you could potentially stop school shootings but it would cost all your life savings, would you do it?
Our Bay Area Innovator today is David Gray. Mr. Gray spent his life savings and a significant amount of time and energy on an innovation that is dear to his heart.
“It’s like, if you could stop Adolf Hitler, what wouldn’t you do? If you could have stopped Uvalde, what wouldn’t you do? I have to do this,” said Mr. Gray.
After experiencing a tragedy, he decided to make schools safer and developed a product and technology for this purpose. However, the results have not been what he expected.
“A lot of the time, I feel like I’m trying to sell them snake oil. I mean, that’s really the attitude I get,” said Mr. Gray. “So it’s really just about getting people’s attention and letting them see the power that lies in that little button.”
In this episode, we talk to Mr. Gray about his platform, his dedication to it, why he did it, and whether technology is the answer to safety.
