A woman was detained at Los Angeles International Airport after she flew last week from Nashville to Los Angeles without a boarding pass, according to officials.
The woman apparently bypassed an empty TSA security station and the ticket checker for the Feb. 7 flight, officials said.
Both she and her luggage were screened by airport security before boarding the flight, according to the TSA.
She has not yet been charged and her name has not been revealed, FBI spokesperson Laura Emiller said.
According to the TSA, the woman was physically screened, along with her carry-on items without incident before boarding the flight.
“TSA and its airline partners are cooperating with the ongoing law enforcement investigation,” agency officials said.
The TSA also said airline personnel are responsible for the entry of passengers onto their planes.
“Beyond the TSA security checkpoint, the boarding procedure at the terminal gate to enter the aircraft is monitored by the airline,” said a TSA spokesperson said.
The case is under investigation in Nashville and Los Angeles, according to Ms. Emiller, the FBI spokesperson.
