LOS ANGELES—A 21-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the kidnapping of a French bulldog snatched while the dog’s owner was eating at a patio diner in downtown Los Angeles, authorities said Feb. 3.

Sadie Slater of Los Angeles was arrested at about 11:30 p.m. Friday in Inglewood by the Los Angeles Police Department’s Gang and Narcotics Division with assistance from the U.S. Marshal’s fugitive task force, according to an LAPD statement.

Ms. Slater was arrested on suspicion of robbery and was being held in lieu of $70,000 bail.

Police did not say whether the dog, named Onyx, was recovered.

Onyx was stolen on Jan. 18 around 3:45 p.m. as the victim ate at a diner in the 800 block of South Grand Avenue.

“A female suspect picked up the victim’s dog and fled,” police said in a statement. “The victim chased after the suspect as she entered a white four-door sedan, which was driven by an additional suspect.”

Police said the second suspect was described as a man in his 20s, and the getaway vehicle was a white four-door Kia Forte.
