The California Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s help to find a driver allegedly involved in a roadside fight with another driver on a freeway in Thousand Oaks that left one of the drivers with major injuries.

Police say the incident happened just before 3 p.m. June 4 on State Route 23 at Avenida De Los Arboles in Thousand Oaks, about 40 miles northwest of Los Angeles.

The two drivers involved in the altercation were driving southbound on the highway. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a male victim sitting in the center median of the freeway with major injuries.

The victim is expected to survive, CHP Officer Ryan Ayres told California Insider.

The other driver fled the scene. The CHP’s Moorpark Area office is asking anyone who witnessed the fight, or might have phone or dashcam video footage of the incident, to call the CHP at 805-477-4174.

“We had a couple people call in the last few days that witnessed the incident,” Mr. Ayres said.

The CHP, however, is still looking for witnesses to come forward, he added.
