COMMERCE, Calif.—Authorities announced Feb. 1 they recovered 58 Hisense flat-screen televisions stolen in Commerce and discovered several additional cargo trailers that had also been reported stolen.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Major Crimes Bureau and Organized Retail Crimes and Cargo Theft Task Force detectives began an investigation Jan. 31 into the cargo heist in Commerce where the televisions were stolen, according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
Investigators were led to San Bernardino where they executed a search warrant in the 3400 block of North Cajon Boulevard and recovered the stolen cargo trailer containing the televisions, which are worth approximately $70,000.
Additional cargo trailers that were reported stolen were also discovered at the location. According to sheriff’s officials, investigators discovered Scotts grass fertilizer, Yamaha home theater systems, generic hand wipes, Unifi computer chips, energy drinks, government-issued Navy recruit training shorts, Arm & Hammer cat litter and baking soda, and CO2 coconut water, worth approximately $5 million.
There was no description of any suspects connected to the cargo thefts.
