LOS ANGELES—A 32-year-old man who police believe jumped from an overpass on the Hollywood (101) Freeway was struck and killed by at least one vehicle in downtown Los Angeles, authorities said on June 18.

California Highway Patrol officers were called at 9:45 p.m. on June 17 to the southbound freeway and North Broadway where they found the victim in the freeway traffic lanes.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Tony Im told City News Service.

He was identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner as Luis Perez Landin.

The victim might have been struck by multiple vehicles, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP issued a SigAlert and closed four lanes of the freeway while its officers investigated the accident.

The LAPD is in charge of the investigation.
