Chapman University experienced remarkable growth over 25 years, expanding from 1,600 to 10,000 students and establishing itself as one of the premier schools in Southern California. Siyamak sits down with Jim Doti, who served as Chapman University’s president during this transformative era.
“The most important attribute of a leader is not being on top of the data, not being persuasive, and not using data analytics to drive transformational change,” says Doti. “The most important thing is to treat people with respect and dignity. You can’t be a good leader unless you treat people well—with respect and dignity.”
