California Minority Leader Explains How Legislators Work Behind the News Headlines | Brian Jones

“One of the things that’s disappointing to me in America right now is that the media is doing everything it can to divide America into two camps: red versus blue, Republican versus Democrat, liberals versus conservatives. To be honest, we don’t operate like that in Sacramento. We don’t get personal there. You can advocate for your position, you can be determined, you can be right, and the other person can be wrong. But that doesn’t mean you have to treat each other poorly,” says California Senator Brian Jones, the minority leader representing San Diego County.

Over the next few months, we’re going to sit down with many public servants in California to understand them better. We face a lot of issues in California, and we want to highlight the people working on these problems.
