CANOGA PARK, Calif.—A man and a woman were killed and four other people injured—two critically—in a three-vehicle collision in Canoga Park, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said Jan. 7.

The two killed remained trapped in the wreckage, Mr. Humphrey said, and fire department personnel plan to return later Sunday to assist the Medical Examiner in recovering their bodies.

Of the four injured, two were hospitalized in critical condition. Two others with minor injuries declined further treatment, he said.

The collision was reported at 12:45 a.m. on the 7600 block of North Topanga Canyon Boulevard.

No information was available on the details of the collision.

Several lanes were closed near the intersection of Topanga Canyon and Saticoy Street while the investigation continues. Motorists were advised to avoid the area or use available detours.
