2 Elderly Victims of Deadly 2-Vehicle Antelope Valley Crash Identified

Two octogenarians killed in a crash involving two vehicles in the Sun Village area of Los Angeles County’s Antelope Valley were identified by authorities on March 4.

The fatal crash occurred on March 3 around 7:45 p.m. at the intersection of East Avenue T and 106th Street East, authorities said.

In video footage of the incident, a red pickup truck and a red sedan were seen to have severe front-end damage as a result of the crash.

According to the cameraman, both of the passengers who were in the sedan were killed, while the person who was in the pickup truck was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

The victims, Jose Maldonado, 83, and Daphne Maldonado, 87, were both pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

California Highway Patrol records said that both passengers had become trapped in their vehicle after the accident.
