The Associated Press has called the closely watched Senate race for Democratic Rep. Ruben Gallego.

The American Civil Liberties Union had argued that tens of thousands of Arizona voters could be disenfranchised due to the ballot restrictions.

The Grand Canyon State’s Senate race is the only one that has not yet been called.

Gallego and Lake are competing to fill a seat held by Sen. Kyrsten Sinema.

Both ballot initiatives passed with the broad support of voters.

Any legal violations by the activists who received the data will be referred to prosecutors for prosecution, Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes said.

Unofficial results may be called on election night, but the varied audit procedures mean counts will take days, or even weeks, to be certified as official.

Arizona’s secretary of state must disclose a list of as many as 218,000 voters affected by a glitch at the Motor Vehicles Division.
