The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has begun distributing refunds amounting to more than $5.6 million to Amazon Ring customers following its settlement with the Jeff Bezos-owned tech giant over alleged security failures.
In an April 23 press release, the agency said it would be sending out approximately 117,044 payments to consumers who had certain types of Ring devices, such as indoor cameras, during periods when the FTC alleges unauthorized users—including employees and third-party contractors at the home security camera company—may have had access to customer videos.
