Zara Gretti, the Nigerian singer and rapper, had died at 28, according to reports.
Gretti, whose real name was Margaret-Mary Joseph, was battling multiple sclerosis, which is an immune system condition that can be potentially fatal.
Reports from Channels TV and the Daily Post said that the singer died this week.
Her last tweet on Thursday night was “I love and hate my life.”
The Post reported that she died Friday morning. She was receiving treatment in the United States after arriving here from Nigeria a year ago.
She was most famous for her song “Abokoku.”
On Twitter, a number of people offered their condolences.
