Zac Efron used tears to get out a traffic ticket.
“I got pulled over and immediately thought I was going to get a ticket because I didn’t have my driver’s license on me or something like that,” the actor revealed during an appearance on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” on May 19. “The lady cop who pulled me over was really sweet, but I got kind of over emotional and I kind of turned the tears on a little bit and she recognized me.”
According to Efron, the female police officer comforted him and just wanted to let him know that “his registration is expired as of yesterday—I’m not going to give you ticket.” She instead asked for a headshot of the star to which he happily obliged to.
The 28-year-old actor credits “hard directors” for honing his talent of crying on the spot.
“I’ve always been able to turn on tears when necessary—a lot of emotional triggers to it,” he said. “Enough hard directors and you learn how to cry.”
Actor Kit Harrington used a different tactic to get out of a traffic ticket—he revealed the fate of Jon Snow from the HBO series “Game of Thrones.”
“There’s a story behind it in that I was driving back from my parents’s house and I was driving too fast. Actually I was being a bit naughty, I was going over the speed limit. I see the sirens go off behind me,” he shared to Jimmy Fallon on the late night talk show. “This policeman comes up, pulls me over. I’m a bit sheepish, ‘I’m really sorry, I wasn’t looking at the clock.’ He said, ‘Do you realize how fast you were going?’ and ‘That’s a bookable offense.’ I said ‘Yes, I’m very, very sorry, sir.’”
The officer offered two options to settle the offense.
“He said, ‘Look, there’s two ways we can do this. You can either follow me back to the police station now and I book you in. Or you can tell me whether you live in the next series of ’Game of Thrones,'” recounted Harrington to a laughing Fallon.
Harrington chose the latter and was sent on his way without any consequences.
