Zac Efron has arrived in Australia to premiere his latest movie Charlie St Cloud which opens in national cinemas on Sept. 23.
Last night, the 22-year-old was welcomed to Parramatta Westfield by thousands of Sydney fans, including several Parramatta Eels rugby players.
The High School Musical heartthrob admitted that he still feels nervous before meeting his fans, AAP reported.
“Every time I think I’m used to it, I get in the car, everything’s fine, but right before I roll out the car the butterflies start to arrive and it’s just nuts,” the actor said at Sunday’s premiere.
Charlie St Cloud is one of several more serious roles the young celebrity has undertaken recently.
The story revolves around a young man who had to choose between honoring a promise to his dead brother and following the girl he loves.
Efron is currently sporting an older look with his striking new beard, in keeping with his more mature role in the movie. But he said, “I would never keep this forever, it’s too itchy.”
