Woman Shoots Costco Employee in San Jose Parking Lot

A San Jose, California, woman was arrested on charges of shooting a man in a South San Jose Costco parking lot, the San Jose Mercury News reported on Friday, July 7.

Nori Tejero, 44, was reportedly romantically involved with the man she shot, witnesses told the paper. She stayed next to her alleged ex after shooting him until officers arrested her.

She was booked into the Elmwood Correctional Facility women’s jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, the Mercury News reported. She’s being held on $25,000 bond.

Police have not released a motive in the shooting.

Police said that she encountered the man as he walked into the parking lot before shooting him. Witnesses described the victim as a Costco employee.

KRON-4, citing the San Jose Police Department, reported that the man’s injuries are non-life-threatening.

Her arraignment is slated for Friday afternoon.

Costco’s corporate office in Seattle has yet to issue a public comment on the incident.
