The person who owns the largest Pokemon collection in the world is Lisa Courtney from Welwyn Garden City, United Kingdom.

Lisa Courtney knew she just had to get ‘em all.

At age 9, Lisa set her eyes on Pikachu in a Nintendo magazine, and her destiny as a Pokemon memorabilia collector was sealed.

According to the Guinness World Records, Lisa had 14,410 different items as of 14 October 2010, and today, after seventeen years of collection, she has amassed more than 16,000 stuffed animals, toys, video games, trading cards, and clothes from the popular Japanese anime.

In fact, Lisa’s collection is now so huge that her mother gave up the master bedroom and moved into the small room in the house to give her more space.

“It didn’t bother me at all, you know,” Lisa’s mother remarked.

“She was happy, I was happy.”

Lisa spends about ten hours a week looking for pieces to add to her collection.

Most of the search and buying is done online via Yahoo Japan auctions, but Lisa does make trips to France and Japan in her pursuit of Pokemon memorabilia.

And Lisa doesn’t plan to call it quits despite having a house nearly filled to the brim with Pokemon stuff.

“I will always collect Pokemon,” Lisa said.

“I will never stop, there’s always something new to get.”
