The White House on Aug. 10 responded to claims outlined in former employee Omarosa Newman’s new book, saying the novel is “riddled with lies and false accusations.”

Newman, the former Assistant to the President, and Director of Communications for the Office of Public Liaison, accused the president of being a racist in her memoir titled, “Unhinged: An Insider’s Account of the Trump White House,” of which Gallery Books is the publisher.

Newman held her job in the White House for around a year. She started working in January 2017 before reportedly resigning in December the same year.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders called Newman a “disgruntled former White House employee” and criticized the media for only giving her a platform since she started attacking Trump.

“Instead of telling the truth about all the good President Trump and his administration are doing to make America safe and prosperous, this book is riddled with lies and false accusations,“ Sanders said. ”It’s sad that a disgruntled former White House employee is trying to profit off these false attacks.”

Sanders also accused the media of “not taking her seriously when she had only positive things to say about the President during her time in the administration.”

A description of the book on Amazon, which comes out on Aug. 14, explains how the 15-year relationship between the two has come to a “decisive and definitive end.” Newman has appeared on Trump’s “The Apprentice” television series multiple times and is where she first rose to prominence.
Frank Luntz, a political consultant who is reportedly mentioned in Newman’s book, called her claims of Trump being racist a complete lie.

“I’m in @Omarosa’s book on page 149,” he wrote on Twitter on Aug. 10. “She claims to have heard from someone who heard from me that I heard Trump use the N-word. Not only is this flat-out false (I’ve never heard such a thing), but Omarosa didn’t even make an effort to call or email me to verify.”

Luntz also called out the publisher for being blinded by profit. Newman reportedly signed a seven-figure book deal with Gallery Books.

“It seems like certain book publishers these days care more about getting a release out than getting the facts down. This is why people don’t trust these ”exposés,” he wrote in another post, in part.
