On April 22, during the annual White House Easter Egg Roll, one of the President’s chief advisers, Kellyanne Conway repeated to reporters the sentiment that Donald Trump was vindicated with the conclusion of the Russia investigation, and that the continued push by Democrats to investigate the President’s personal life further will actually end up helping him politically. In an interview with reporters, Conway said, “[Democrats] are going to hand this reelection to him. Have at it. I‘ll see you for five more Easter Egg Rolls, we’ll have a ball.”
Conway was also asked if the White House will move on after the release of the Mueller report and she implied that this being one of the top stories in the media at the moment, those who have pushed this false narrative should to apologize to the people. Conway asked if House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) would apologize after “vomiting collusion 50 times a day, 100 times a day for the last 2 and a half years and pretending there is still something there?“ asking sarcastically: ”he has evidence of collusion that Bob Mueller doesn’t?”
Conway then affirmed that: “The Mueller investigation, the Mueller redactions, the Mueller report, people are going to have to look at that as the legitimate and final definitive investigation. If they want to keep investigating on Capitol Hill, they can do that but I am sure that the public wants them to focus on what we focus on here which is economy, taxes, healthcare, education, drugs, drug pricing, infrastructure, and obviously all things foreign policy and national security.” Finally, she made a comment that some days she cannot tell the difference between politicians in the Democratic party and many in the mainstream media, demonstrating her perspective on why the Russia investigation has become and remains such a partisan political issue.
