The snow is falling hard in the northeast United States, and Boston residents are wondering about area grocery stores.
Are Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, and others still open? Will they open Tuesday?

Trader Joe’s
Trader Joe’s citywide will definitely be closed, according to an associate at the Back Bay location.
“We are planning on opening on Wednesday,” Matthew, the associate, added over the phone, but if the MBTA is closed on Wednesday Trader Joe’s locations will likely stay closed.
The various locations on Monday appear to be losing food fast to the crowds.
“I think the entire city of Boston is in trader joe’s back bay right now,” said one Twitter user, Molly McDonald, in the afternoon.
“All the tweets I’ve seen about groceries running out of food around Boston have been from places like Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s,” added another, Elizabeth.
Whole Foods
Whole Foods locations may or may not be open on Tuesday.
“Follow us on Facebook and Twitter for any updates,” said an associate. “We’re not sure yet.”
Stop & Shop
The Stop & Shop locations are expected to be open.
“Yes, we are,” said an associate at the 713 East Broadway, South Boston location when answering the phone.
The hours are expected to be the usual--7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
