Dressed in their best, celebrities have been heading to Italy for the 68th Venice International Film Festival, which began Aug. 31. For the premiere of her film, “W.E.,” Madonna wore a pale blue Vionnet gown sprinkled with scarlet butterflies that hugged her figure, while Abbie Cornish looked demure in Atelier Versace. Model Natasha Poly wore a stunning red, flowing gown, and Gwyneth Paltrow looked regal in a pale pink Prada floor-length dress that featured a big bow at the back of the neck. The festival, which promotes the various aspects of international cinema in all its forms and raises awareness of the history of cinema, will run through Sept. 10.
