National Football League Week 7 fantasy football start or sit advice.
Week 7 fantasy football start or sit: Start QB Tony Romo, Dallas Cowboys
It’s a perfect storm going Romo’s way this Sunday. The New York Giants are the walking wounded both physically and emotionally. Romo is a good fantasy football quarterback when at home, he has a history of putting up solid numbers against the Giants over the past couple of years, and New York’s defense has been a liability on the road when not facing Kirk Cousins.
Week 7 fantasy football start or sit: Sit QB Matt Ryan, Atlanta Falcons
Matty Ice’s numbers on the road in 2014: 5 touchdowns with 6 interceptions in three games. Over half of those touchdown passes came against the Minnesota Vikings. Ryan has been too inconsistent when away from home for fantasy football owners to trust him, to the point that you may be better off starting Cleveland Browns quarterback Brian Hoyer -- yes, Brian Hoyer -- over the Atlanta QB1.
Week 7 fantasy football start or sit: Start RB Justin Forsett, Baltimore Ravens
Remember when you grabbed Forsett in your fantasy football drafts? No? Don’t feel bad, because neither did anybody else.
Forsett has emerged as the top running back in Baltimore. He’s averaged over 7 yards per carry in his past two contests, and he torched the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to the tune of 111 yards on 14 carries. Atlanta has been responsible for the worst run defense in the league as it pertains to fantasy football, so you should happily insert Forsett into your lineups.
Week 7 fantasy football start or sit: Sit RB Chris Johnson, New York Jets
Is Johnson still on your fantasy football team? You may want to reevaluate things if so. Johnson has been phased out of the New York offense, receiving 12 total touches in the team’s past two games. He could always hit on a home run play as he did against the Detroit Lions a few weeks back, but you’re hoping for a miracle by starting Johnson these days.
Week 7 fantasy football start or sit: Start WR Steve Smith Sr., Baltimore Ravens
Smith put his lackluster game against the Indianapolis Colts out of memory when he reeled in 5 passes for 110 yards against Tampa Bay. SSS will get multiple chances to stretch the field against the Falcons on Sunday, and he is a must start in fantasy football until further notice.
Week 7 fantasy football start or sit: Sit WR Dwayne Bowe, Kansas City Chiefs
Are you a fantasy football owner who likes wide receivers who find the end zone? Bowe isn’t the guy for you if that’s the case. Bowe has gotten all of two red zone looks in 2014. He has zero touchdowns and 14 total receptions on the year. You’re playing against the odds if you’re expecting Bowe to have a breakout game against a San Diego defense that’s been excellent in home games.
Week 7 fantasy football start or sit: Start TE Dwayne Allen, Indianapolis Colts
Allen let fantasy football owners down last week, grabbing 3 receptions for only 49 yards. He gave you no touchdowns.
To steal from Aaron Rodgers: R-E-L-A-X.
Allen has been a favorite red zone target of quarterback Andrew Luck. He has found the end zone in four of six games. Allen is a fantasy football start at a position that is lacking a plethora of top players.
Week 7 fantasy football start or sit: Sit TE Eric Ebron, Detroit Lions
The man who was the top-rated tight end of the 2014 NFL Draft class has disappointed. He averaged four targets per game over his past three games, and he gave fantasy football owners only a single touchdown during that stretch. Ebron just isn’t getting it done.
Week 7 fantasy football start or sit: Start Cleveland Browns defense
The Jacksonville Jaguars have kept contests close, but it isn’t because the team’s offense has been posting monster fantasy football points. It’s possible that the Browns could have a letdown game after blowing the Pittsburgh Steelers out last week, but the hope is that head coach Mike Pettine has his team focused on the task at hand. Logic suggests Cleveland should be a good fantasy football start this time around.
Week 7 fantasy football start or sit: Sit Kansas City Chiefs
Two words: Philip Rivers. Rivers is the best quarterback in the AFC, and betting against him would be unwise.
