In the race between self-driving cars and self-flying drones, it appears the latter will get to the finish line first.
The Pentagon unveiled its self-flying drone last month, and now DJI has come out with its own semi-autonomous drone that can avoid obstacles and return home on its own.
The DJI Phantom 4 is equipped with sensors that can detect objects between 2 and 49 feet in front of it, and is programmed to avoid crashes accordingly, a function similar to the one in the Pentagon drone.
The drone will set you back $1,399, and preorders will arrive on March 15th, according to CNET.
The Phantom 4 also comes with a number of other adjustments and upgrades, including a subject-tracking function on its camera, a vibration-remover, and multiple flight modes.
