Franklin Allen, Chief of the Jonesboro Police Department, said the refusal to design the cake represents a larger issue. “It’s really heartbreaking, because officers go out and put their lives on the line for people, regardless of color, creed, sex, or national origin. It doesn’t matter to us,” said Allen.

On Facebook, a person who claims to know the woman said the manager at the Walmart “offered to make the cake (which had already been taken care of by Kroger) and apologized for the mistake.”

Last year, Walmart was slammed when one of its stores in Louisiana stores refused to bake a cake with a Confederate flag on it, but agreed to bake a cake with the ISIS flag design for the same person, according to ABC News.
